The FBI has confirmed that threats against UFC fighter and Green Beret Tim Kennedy are real.
Tim Kennedy is an outspoken veteran of the Iraq war, proud American and certified badass.
He’s also a pretty darn good member of the UFC middleweight division
(holding a #6 in the world ranking), with wins over the current UFC
welterweight champ Robbie Lawler and Michael Bisping on his official
record. No one would mess with Tim, right? Well, just because he can
defeat most living men in hand to hand combat (even most men with
various weapons Mad Max style), it doesn’t mean he’s invulnerable to some scary stuff.
Tim
Kennedy has a lot of haters on social media, and he, like many other
people in the public eye, receive threats from time to time. An
un-scientific poll in my head puts 99 percent of these internet tough
guys into the “keyboard warrior” category, but unfortunately, not this
time. ISIS has threatened Tim Kennedy. The extent of
the threats, we do not know — but this is real, and Tim Kennedy is
looking the terrorists right in the eye without blinking.
He told the Army Times:
“Apparently a couple of them were legitimate in trying to, from what the FBI said, plan stuff. They said, ‘Are you aware of this stuff?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ They said, ‘We think this is somewhat credible.’ Then I said, ‘I’m kind of desensitized to this stuff, so maybe you should tell me what my level of alarm should be.’ ”
Of
course, maybe ISIS isn’t trying to get at Tim for his love of freedom
and everything red, white and blue. Maybe they’re just not Katy Perry fans.
